Text messaging: how people opt in
Last updated: October 8, 2026
CallsKept (operated by Shamrock Market Inc.) provides phone numbers to small businesses. This page describes exactly when a CallsKept number sends a text message, how consumers give consent, and how they stop messages. CallsKept never sends marketing or promotional texts and never texts purchased, rented or imported lists.
1. The consumer contacts the business first
Every conversation starts with the consumer. A consumer either calls a business’s published phone number (which forwards to that business’s CallsKept number) or texts that number. No text is ever sent to someone who has not called or texted the business.
2. Missed call: disclosure, then one text
If the business can’t answer, the caller hears this recorded notice before the call ends:
“Sorry we missed your call. We’ve just sent a text message to this number so you can reach us by text. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Thanks for calling.”
The caller then receives one text from the business’s CallsKept number, for example:
“Hi, thanks for calling Titan Core Facility Services! Sorry we missed you — reply here and we’ll help you right away. Reply STOP to opt out.”
The first text always names the business and includes “Reply STOP to opt out.” If the caller doesn’t reply, the conversation ends there (a business may send at most one follow-up about the same request).
3. The consumer texts the business
If a consumer texts the business’s number, replies come from the business or its AI assistant and are limited to the consumer’s request — answering questions, hours, availability, quotes and appointment confirmations the consumer asked for.
4. Appointment confirmations
When a caller books an appointment during a call and asks for a confirmation, they receive a confirmation text and, if they agreed, a reminder before the appointment.
5. Opting out and help
- STOP (also STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT): no further messages are sent; the consumer receives one confirmation that they are unsubscribed and can reply START to resubscribe.
- START or UNSTOP: re-subscribes, with a confirmation that includes how to get help (HELP) and opt out (STOP).
- HELP: the consumer receives a reply with support contact information (support@callskept.com) and how to opt out.
6. Program details
- Message frequency varies with the conversation; typically 1–3 messages per inquiry.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Mobile numbers and opt-in information are never shared with or sold to third parties for marketing.
